James “Jim” Carey is the managing partner of SiebenCarey Personal Injury Law, one of Minnesota’s largest and most established personal injury law firms and a U.S. News Best Law Firm since 2010.

He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only organization of accomplished trial attorneys who demonstrate substantial courtroom skill, high personal character, and an honorable reputation.

Jim was appointed to the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier trial lawyer organizations in North America, and has served as a Fellow for eight years.

In 2022, Best Lawyers in America recognized Jim as “Lawyer of the Year” in Personal Injury Litigation, an award that symbolizes excellence in practice.

Represented a client who was injured after a garbage truck pulled into the wrong lane during dark, rainy conditions, causing multiple drivers to veer off the road. The client was subsequently struck by another vehicle while outside his car.

Secured recovery for a union roofer who fell approximately 30 feet through an unsecured opening in a high school roof, sustaining serious orthopedic and brain injuries that ended his career.

Represented a Chisago City woman who suffered a traumatic brain injury and PTSD after being struck by a vehicle that ran a stop sign. She was unable to return to work.

Represented the family of a Wisconsin college student who was killed when the SUV she was riding in lost control on slippery roads and struck a bridge overpass pillar. The settlement was achieved on behalf of her surviving parents and sibling.

Secured recovery for a worker injured while dismantling heavy industrial equipment at a particle board facility in Cook, Minnesota. The incident involved a 26,000-pound plate during demolition of a multi-story machine structure.

$350,000 Settlement

Represented a motorcyclist who was struck from behind by a vehicle attempting to pass in a No Passing Zone while he was making a left turn. The client was airlifted from the scene and treated for significant injuries.
